Today marks the 1 year anniversary of the beginning of an unexpected journey for our family. A journey that has challenged us, strengthened us and driven us to our knees. One year ago today, we found out that Rich no longer had a job. During the following days we experienced a variety of emotions. We were shocked, angry, overwhelmed, disappointed, confused and uncertain of the future but over the next few months God opened our eyes to His definition of success.
In seeking Him, we've found satisfaction in the Savior and not in the stuff. We have realized that many things in our lives were preventing us from being dependent on God. Without the distraction of those things, God became our prime focus and the true Lord of our lives.
God took something terrible and turned it into one of the greatest blessings for our family. God began opening new doors and opportunities for ministry. God showed us how he takes care of His children when they walk in obedience to Him!! He began revealing more and more of His plan for our lives and it has been so much better than anything we could have imagined possible.
With the loss of a job came the blessing of a new journey into ministry that gave us new purpose as a family. We are no longer climbing the corporate ladder, chasing the American dream or enlarging our own kingdom here on earth. Our purpose is to obey God's command to "Go and make disciples" and to spend each day on earth focused on furthering His kingdom however he leads us.
We do not know what the next year holds, but we are confident that as we continue to seek God's direction and continue to walk in faith, He will continue to do amazing things in and through us.
