Wow!!! What a month March has been!! God has been showing up in BIG ways for the Greater Dayton FCA and for our family. We came to a major crossroads 2 weeks ago. We needed God's guidance on the next steps in ministry. We had walked in obedience to God's call but were wondering if God was leading us to something else. We called out to God and asked for His provision and clear direction. We asked and He answered in a way that only God can.
-He provided living expenses for our family for March and April.
-He opened up ministry opportunities with a church plant & school in Dayton to start a sport's evangelism program.
-He opened up the door for Rich to be a chaplain for the Hispanic players on the Dayton Dragons baseball team.
-He gave Rich the opportunity to tag along with former NFL player Rich Garza as he conducted school assemblies throughout the Miami Valley. One of those locations was a juvenile detention center where 42 kids made decisions for Christ. We're now praying for the opportunity to help disciple those kids on a regular basis.
-He opened the door for us to return to OBI in April and be a part of their chapel services during FCA week.
-He opened the door for Christian to connect with a church in Tipp City to plan a night of worship for all of the ministry groups that serve the Tipp schools.
These are just a few examples of what God has done for us in the past 10 days!! Oh what a mighty God we serve!! It's so exhilarating to see the promises in God's Word come to pass. When we seek first His Kingdom, then he takes care of the rest. He blesses obedience. He supplies all of our needs and then some. There is nothing on this earth that can bring us more pleasure and happiness than total surrender to God's plan.
I can't imagine going back to our self-centered lives focused on acquiring worldly comforts and the world's view of the "good life". God's command for us is to Go, make disciples! Acts 1:8 calls us to go to Jerusalem (our city) and Judea (our state) and Samaria (our country) and to the ends of the earth. How can we be followers of Christ and ignore that command? Especially when we see the need right here in our Jerusalem!
There are hurting children, hurting families who need the hope of Jesus right now. These children are in our communities, in our neighborhoods, but are we too preoccupied with the things of this world to see them?
