The day before Thanksgiving our life was interrupted by the loss of my husband's job. A loss that even though we know is part of God's plan is still difficult to walk through. As we navigate through this time we're depending on God and trusting in his faithfulness.
It can be easy to let current circumstances overwhelm me and prevent me from appreciating the blessings that God gives me each day. I can look at all that we don't have or the holiday extras that aren't in the budget and get discouraged. If I do that then I miss what God is trying to teach me.....dependence on Him. And I also can miss seeing his love in practical ways each day. God has chosen many simple ways to bring me joy this week. He has used the generosity of a swim team, a family member and our church. He has used special markdowns at the grocery store. He has used our family Advent devotions and my children's eagerness to go deeper. And I know these things have been from Him because each time I have felt his presence or hear him whisper "because I love you".
So today I begin a journey of finding joy in the daily things. Joy that comes from knowing that God is faithful in ALL things.
I encourage you to join me in this journey and share your own "Joy in the Daily Life" moments.
I have told you these things, that My joy and delight may be in you, and that your joy and gladness may be of full measure and complete and overflowing. John 15: 11
