So many people have a message that they want others to hear. We want to explain why we worship the way they do. We want to explain why we dress a certain way or eat certain foods. We want others to understand why we choose certain types of entertainment. We try to use God's Word to back up our choices and condemn others for not being open minded to our way of thinking.
We spend so much time on our soapboxes trying to convince our Christian family and friends that we are right about stupid, petty, selfish issues while a
world is dying without Jesus. We ignore God's command to "Go, into ALL nations and preach the gospel". Instead we waste our lives trying to fill our homes and garages with more and more stuff. We spend our time and money making sure our
families are entertained. We are so focused on our own little world that we ignore the real life and death needs of others.
It's time to get down off of the soapbox and go to the needy places, the dirty places, and the dangerous places. It's time to use our resources to take God's message to the unreached people groups of this world. It's time to use our resources to help others in this world attain the basic necessities of life......food, water & shelter.
I have been so challenged lately by the messages of John Piper and David Platt to leave all the "junk" behind and focus my life on Jesus. I'm not exactly sure where that will lead me but I know that I
refuse to waste another day laying up treasures here on earth. I also will not waste my valuable time and energy listening to the soapbox messages of others.
I challenge you to leave your soapboxes behind and "Go" and preach the gospel to someone who needs Jesus.
