On May 19th, my daughter Madison and I will participate in our first Walk for Life for the Miami Valley Women's Center. She is very excited because she has wanted to participate for the last couple of years but we couldn't for various reasons.
The Miami Valley Women's Center is a non-profit organization that offers many programs and classes that strengthen families. They offer free pregnancy testing and ultrasounds to girls with unplanned pregnancies. After seeing their baby via ultrasound, 9 out of 10 girls choose not to have an abortion. The center also offers childbirthing classes, parenting classes, support groups, abortion recovery one-on-one support, baby care necessities and much more.
Madison has set a high goal of raising $1000. She has already begun to ask for pledges. I'm not sure if she will meet it but I'm excited to see her enthusiasm and determination. If you would like to sponsor her for this walk, she would greatly appreciate it. You can make a one-time donation of any amount. Any donations of $25 or more can be billed to you. Lesser amounts can be mailed or sent via paypal. Contact me for details.
With the combined efforts of each person, whether big or small, we can make a difference!
The Bible says "Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also". ( Matt. 6:21) If God is the treasure of our souls, then our desires and affections will be on things above. So what do we treasure? As Christians we say we treasure God and supporting our church and world missions. But do we really live like that? We can look at where we actually spend our money and see what we truly value.
The second week of June is when we load up the church bus and vans full of kids and head to Seneca Lake for a week of Kid's Kamp. I've gone for the past 2 years as a Bible Learning Leader. It's a fun, exhausting, blessed week sharing Jesus with kids, many who do not attend church regularly. This year Rich has been invited to go as the Recreation Director and Christian and Noah are going as his assistants. Madison and Tyler are going as campers. I'm so excited that we're all going together this year!!
